COVID-19 UPDATE

5/7/20

Neighborhood Pediatrics continues to take precautions to ensure the safety of our families and staff.  We are now scheduling appointments for well visits of all ages.  Appointments that are already scheduled over the next few weeks may be adjusted.

We are starting to contact those of you who missed their already scheduled appointments during the early days of the pandemic.

We have two providers seeing well visits per day and are staggering appointments so very few people will be in the waiting room at a time.  One provider is seeing urgent care visits and we will continue to provide telemedicine appointments as needed.  Patients are waiting for a minimal time in the waiting rooms and both are cleaned on an ongoing basis.

We have implemented guidelines to help keep your family and our staff safe during appointments:
- We ask that only one caregiver accompany their child for appointments if possible.
- We require all of our staff to wear face masks.  We ask that patients age 2 and over and their caregiver wear a mask.  We strongly recommend that you bring a mask from home or we will provide you with a mask during your visit.
- Please maintain social distancing as appropriate.

We are here for you.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

3/24/20

As coronavirus spreads through the community, Neighborhood Pediatrics is working hard to keep our patients and medical staff safe while still taking care of our patients.

We are limiting the staff in our office and having one provider seeing well visits and one provider seeing sick visits per day. We are screening every patient for COVID-19 prior to scheduling appointments. You will spend minimal time in the sick and well waiting rooms as wait times are very short. We are taking extra precautions to keep our office clean and have removed all toys and books/magazines from the rooms. We are suspending rounding on both newborns and inpatients at Fairvew Hospital to help limit the number of people going into and out of the hospital during this time. Fairview has very competent hospitalists and we know our patients who may need to be hospitalized will be in good hands.

Well Visits:
At this time we are limiting well visits to those 18 months and younger to monitor growth and development and ensure they are getting essential vaccines. We will miss seeing your older kids in the office but will catch them up when we are able.

Sick Visits:
We are limiting our sick visits in the office to essential visits and also starting virtual visits via telemedicine. Please call if your child is sick and we will determine the best way to care for your child.

Lastly, please stay at home. As Dr. Amy Acton and Governor Mike DeWine have officially enacted the Stay At Home Order, please follow this advice to help keep your family and community safe. No gatherings, no sleepovers, no play dates. Play outside, jump in mud puddles, plan a scavenger hunt, write letters to family and friends.

As always, don’t hesitate to call us with any questions or concerns.
